LaunchPM completed a tenant improvement project in Tempe for U.S. Digital Designs by Honeywell. U.S. Digital Designs produces fire alarm software and hardware that enables fire stations to achieve faster response times. The company develops and delivers technology systems and equipment to more than four thousand fire stations and dispatch centers around the world. The 21,813-square-foot space was an existing office space that U.S. Digital Designs needed reconfigured to include facilities for manufacturing and warehouse operations.
When the LaunchPM team was tasked with managing the seamless integration of the office and manufacturing buildout, they faced the challenge of a tight timeline to get the job done. Planning for the project began in June 2024 and construction was underway just two months later, in August. They worked closely with the client and the design and construction teams to successfully complete the buildout in five months. Walls and doors had to be removed and added to create an operational space that now includes six private offices, two conference rooms, a large open office, kitchen, breakroom, engineering and prosecution areas, a demo room, machine shop, ATX burning room for testing products and a warehouse.
U.S. Digital Designs by Honeywell worked with brokers at JLL to secure their lease and negotiate TI. As a result, LaunchPM coordinated project management with the CBRE PM team. Other vendors and trade partners for the project included Ware Malcomb as the architects and Breise Construction serving as the general contractor. LaunchPM oversaw all aspects of the project plan and implementation, providing communication between all parties to keep the buildout on track to successfully meet budget and timeline goals.
U.S. Digital Designs is a Tempe-based company that was founded in 2000. In 2021, the company was acquired by Honeywell. Integrated into Honeywell’s Fire and Connected Life Safety systems business allowed Honeywell to expand its product solutions in public safety communications that provide first responders with an enhanced set of tools for reducing dispatch call processing times, increasing the speed for responding to local emergencies and improving community safety.
