It’s been a few months since Andrew Scarano joined the LaunchPM team as the new Director of Operations. Andrew grew up in Phoenix and graduated from ASU with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. For more than a decade, Andrew led and built teams and managed operations and business development across multiple states in the commercial low-voltage and electrical staffing industry. We recently sat down to learn more about Andrew and his vision for LaunchPM.
What attracted you to joining the LaunchPM team?
It is an incredible opportunity for me to tap into my experience managing sales and operations in a fast-paced environment and apply it strategically to help move LaunchPM forward. The company has consistently grown during its 13 years. My focus will be on looking at how we can continue that growth while also focusing on efficiency. It’s also a great opportunity for me to work with my mom (Beth), to learn from her and take some of the backroom tasks off her plate so she can focus on other areas of the business.
As Director of Operations, what will you be doing?
I will be tracking P&L to ensure we are operating profitably and working efficiently and effectively. One of our goals is to be a leader in innovation – a key piece to that is integrating the best software platforms into our process. Right now, we are pioneering a new project management software that will help streamline how we work and potentially replace two or three other software platforms we are currently using. I will also be investing some of my time as a project coordinator, assisting in business development, building out a new CRM and getting more involved in industry organizations.
What are you most excited about?
I’m most excited to learn and to help make a difference. There is so much we do and so many moving parts. From ground-up builds to
tenant improvement – we are managing multiple budgets and vendors for projects at any given time. Right now, I am taking the time to dig in and see what we can do to learn every position, understand our current process, and make sure we are doing what we can to be operationally sound.
When you are not working, where can we find you?
My wife and I have two sons — ages 3 and almost 5 — they keep us very busy. I love working out at the gym and running to burn off stress. I love sports, especially basketball, and coaching my 5-year-olds YMCA team. I am hoping the boys will someday join me in my passions. They are starting to show interest.
