FTS American Manufacturing, previously known as Fine Timepiece Solutions USA, reached out to LaunchPM for its recent expansion and buildout of a new facility in Mesa. FTS is dedicated to growing watchmaking and manufacturing in the United States. In 2023, the company acquired a nearly 6,000-square-foot space in Mesa near 74th Street and East Southern Avenue. The LaunchPM team worked closely with the leaders at FTS to bring their vision for an innovative space that supports the company’s strategic plan for growth to fruition.
Construction started the first week of March 2024 and final touches were wrapped up in mid to late May. Tenant improvements for the space entailed combining two large suites into one and integrating the existing warehouse space with roll-up doors. After gutting the existing suites, the space was framed and electrical and HVAC were installed. The new facility includes secure inbound and outbound warehouse storage, a dedicated space for watch and movement production, a clean room for machines, an open office and multipurpose flex space.
Overcoming challenges
One of the key challenges was ensuring a safe and sanitary space for manufacturing watches. FTS needed an isolated clean production room to ensure dust-free workstations that allow employees to protect intricate internal parts and pieces from particles. Using air compressors and air lines running through the ceiling, compressed air is directed to key areas of operations to power machines.
FTS works directly with the watchmaking industry to provide design, engineering, manufacturing and testing of American-made timepieces, partnering with U.S. watch brands such as Americhron, Titan, Lineage and Rockwell. FTS also works with The Ridge on the production of its streamlined metal wallets made of forged carbon fiber, stainless steel, gunmetal or burnt titanium.
The company has established a network of suppliers and craftsmen to secure individual parts and assemble products using top-quality resources.
